Adao Soares Barbosa, M.Sc. |
Adao S. Barbosa is an Agronomist and holds a Master in Environmental Science from Victoria University, Australia. Currently, he is Director for the Centre for Climate Change and Biodiversity and a Lecturer with the Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, in the National University of Timor -Leste. Adao is the National Focal Point for Timor-Leste for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), as well as National Climate Change Negotiator for the UNFCCC, who leads ‘Loss and Damage’ negotiations on behalf of 48 Least Developed Countries (LDCs). He is currently representing the LDCs as members of the Loss and Damage Executive Community for the Warsaw International Mechanism for Loss and Damage under the UNFCCC. He is also member for the Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG) representing Asia region. |
Marcal Gusmao, Ph.D |
Dr. Marcal Gusmao obtained his PhD in Agronomy from the University of Western Australia (UWA), Australia, in 2011 and Master of Soil Management and Conservation from the University of Adelaide, Australia,in 2003. He commenced his career as lecturer at the Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture,UNTLin 2000. He currently holds Vice Director for the Centre for Climate Change and Biodiversity and Vise Dean for Academic Affairs, Faculty of Agriculture, UNTL. He also holds the National Focal Point for the Access to Genetic Resources and Sharing of Benefits arising from Their Utilisation of the United Nations Conventions on Biodiversity (UNCBD) since 2012. He has number of peer reviewed publications ranging from soil and water conservation, agroforestry and adaptation to climate change and attending several international and national conferences as speaker. His research interest areas are crop adaptation to harsh environment including climate change, sustainable farming system and soil and water conservation. |

Vicente de Paulo Correia, PhD |
Vicente de Paulo Correia is a Director Centro Nacional de Investigação Científica (CNIC)-UNTL and senior lecturer in the Department of Agro-Socio Economic, Faculty of Agriculture, UNTL. Vicente holds a Masters degree from the University of Adelaide, South Australia in Agricultural Business, and a PhD from Curtin University of Technology, West Australia in Agribusiness-Value Chains. As academic staff in the Faculty of Agriculture, he is actively involved in teaching, supervising and conducting research. He is a research coordinator for a number of research project funded by UNTL, government and international agencies including research in field of farming system analysis, consumer preferences, agribusiness development, linking farmers to markets, nutrition, coffee and post-harvest losses. Currently, he is Director for the National Scientific Research Centre at UNTL; a member of the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS); member of the Doctoral Council of UNTL; and principal examiner for Post-graduate program of Master in Management and Applied Science UNTL; while also being active as in the Agriculture Science group developing basic national curriculum for higher education in Timor Leste. |
Eduardo Serao, PhD. |
Eduardo holds a Doctorate in Animal Production and Veterinary Science from the School of Veterinary Science at the Queensland University, Australia, majoring field studies in Epidemiologic and Village Chickens Production Constraints. Currently, Eduardo is a Lecturer at the Animal Production Department of the Faculty of Agriculture, National University of Timor-Leste, and Vice Rector for Cooperation. |

Acacio Guterres, MSc. |
Acacio da Costa Guterres is an Agronomist and holds a Master Degree in Agriculture Science from Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Australia. Currently, he is a senior researcher and a Lecturer with the Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, in the National University of Timor Lorosa’e (UNTL). He was appointed the Deputy Manager of National Scientific Centre of UNTL in 2010 to 2015. Prior to that, he was a Manager of Human Development Centre of UNTL and UNDP in 2009 to 2014 and Head of Department of Agronomy of the faculty of Agriculture of National University of Timor Lorosa’e in June 2000 to 15 May 2005. He has received and awarded with several international funds for scientific research such as biological control of Chromolaenaodorata in Timor-Leste by using Cecidocharesconnexa funded by ACIAR, Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) funded by RDP-IV and GIZ and postharvest losses study and it is handling funded by FAO and IFAD. He authored number of books such Good Agriculture Practices of rice, maize, soybean and mung-bean and journal such as the losses of maize due to traditional storage method in Timor-Leste, Synergy of storage management with varietal productivity improvement: the case of maize in Timor-Leste, The losses of maize due to different elevation in Timor-Leste and Biocontrol of Chromolaenaodorata in Timor-Leste. |

Delfim da Costa is a lecturer and researcher at National University of Timor Lorosa’e. He hold a bachelor degree in Agronomy at UNTL. Delfim also hold a master degree in Environmental Science at School of Environmental Science and Management (SESAM)-University of the Philippines Los Banos. As a researcher, Delfim has the most interest area to work on such as Environmental and climate change issues as well as agriculture. |
